Hudson Valley Honor Flight

On Saturday, May 31 at 6:30 am a very special flight was loading to take off from Westchester County Airport bound for Reagan National Airport in Washington DC.  The Honor Flight contained 56 elderly veterans, 56 guardians who assisted the honorees as well as a number of other volunteers. And aboard that flight was one of our Meals-on-Wheels of New Rochelle gentlemen,93, and a veteran of WW II. (He is pictured below with a MOW volunteer). The very busy schedule for the day included a tour to the Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Then onto the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean and Viet Nam Memorials, dinner at the Holiday Inn and back to Reagan, then Westchester County Airport by 8 pm!!!...tired but exhilarated. Our congratulations to Frank and all the honorees!
